Cyweb features
1. Security
Cyweb requires a password to access the Cyborg database. Each
user can be assigned different levels of security and different
types of data that they can view. Employees viewing data over
the internet can only view their own records.
2. Data access
Cyweb accesses an Access database created by Datatron's DB Creator. This database can be customized
to include selected segments from FILE02. The number of occurences of each segment can also be determined.
This includes check history as far back as you want to go. Each user can be customized for data access so that
Human Resources personnel can only look at HR data while payroll personnell can view only payroll data and employees
can only view their own record.
3. Updating data
Cyborg fields can be updated through Cyweb forms. Each user can be customized
as to which fields they can update, including employees on the internet. All
changes immediately update the online database and writes a record to a log file.
Changes can be periodically extracted from the log file to provide transactions to
run through the Cyborg maintenance runs to update FILE02. This procedures gives
an audit trail of all changes made through Cyweb.
4. Create reports or queries
Payroll or HR personnel can create reports or queries easily for viewing online or for
printing. Cyweb provides a user friendly menu that allows the user to generate
SQL commands to extract data for the report. Data selection criteria can be easily
specified. Sorting, totaling, averaging, minimum and maximum values can be created
for each report. The user does not have to have any knowledge of SQL commands to
create a query or report.
